Biofreeze's current colorless-gel label lists menthol 4% and temporary relief of minor aches and pains associated with strains, bruises, sprains, arthritis, and backache. LactiGo's positioning adds a performance-and-recovery story built around its carnosine-magnesium composition. Those jobs overlap only partly. A cooling or analgesic sensation is not the same outcome as repeated-sprint power, and neither automatically establishes multi-day recovery.
LactiGo has the more specific branded performance signal
A 2025 triple-blind crossover pilot tested LactiGo against a menthol-matched placebo in seven elite male rugby sevens players. Peak power was higher at several sprint points, while mean power, heart rate, and perceived exertion did not show a treatment effect. That makes the LactiGo question more interesting than an ingredient-only comparison—but still narrow.
